Alhambra is located in the western San Gabriel Valley region of Los Angeles County and

is a great place to rent multifamily, duplex, triplex, fourplex and larger commercial apartment

properties. Its job industry, conveniences, and attractions make this a great place to live and

there is a good market available to rent multifamily rental properties such as duplexes, triplexes,

and fourplexes. There is also no rent control in Alhambra.

Alhambra’s population was 84,322 as of 2012. The estimated median household income

in 2011 was $53,233 (it was $39,213 in 2000). This is lower than the California median which

was $57,287 in 2011.

The main business district of Alhambra, at the intersection of Main & Garfield, has been

a center of commerce since 1895. Main Street has numerous dining, retail and entertainment

establishments. There is also a very active Chinese business district on Valley Boulevard,

including Chinese supermarkets, restaurants, shops, banks, and medical offices. Some of the

top employers in the city include Los Angeles County Department of Public Works (3,600),

Alhambra Unified School District (2,136), County of Los Angeles (1,500), Southern California

Edison (800), City of Alhambra (650), Alhambra Hospital (600), Empire Building Maintenance

(420), Costco (369), Southwest Administrators (285), and Target (130).

The city also enjoys being close to a variety of conveniences. The nearest major airport

is Bob Hope Airport (BUR). This airport has domestic flights from Burbank and is 23 miles from

the center of Alhambra. Another major airport is Long Beach Airport (LGB), which has domestic

flights from Long Beach and is 25 miles from Alhambra. Alhambra’s hospital is the Alhambra

Hospital Medical Center. There are also colleges and universities in and around Alhambra, the

closest and biggest being the University of Southern California with 30,578 full time enrolled

students 2 miles away.

Alhambra has many attractions, the most famous of which is downtown Alhambra at

the intersection of Main & Garfield, which offers plenty of shopping with numerous boutiques

and a farmers market on Sundays. Asian markets and shops also line Valley Boulevard. The

Hat, a local icon, was the original, family-owned outdoor restaurant, that is now a well-known

small Southern California chain. Other attractions include the Garfield Theatre, Gateway Plaza

Monument, Pasadena Model Railroad, and the Renaissance Plaza.

All of these features make Alhambra a great place to rent multifamily properties such as

duplexes, triplexes, fourplexes and larger commercial apartment buildings. This vibrant, diverse

community has great attractions and a healthy work industry. The density of the city and the

desire for people to live here, make it an ideal location for multifamily living and the city does

have great duplex, triplex, and fourplex properties.
