Altadena is an unincorporated area located in the San Gabriel Valley region of Los

is Bob Hope Airport (BUR). This airport has domestic flights from Burbank and is 19 miles from 

the center of Altadena. There are several hospitals near Altadena, including Glendale Adventist 

Medical Center (6 miles), Alhambra Hospital Medical Center (7 miles), and Garfield Medical 

Center (10 miles away). There are also colleges and universities around Altadena, the biggest 

being the University of Southern California with 30,578 full time enrolled students 9 miles away. 

Altadena has many attractions, the most famous of which is its Christmas Tree Lane, a 

on Santa Rosa Avenue from Woodbury Road to Altadena Drive. It has been a holiday attraction 

since 1920, and it is the oldest large-scale outdoor Christmas lighting venue in the world. 

Among Altadena's Christmas lighting attractions is the Balian Mansion, which draws people 

worldwide for tours of its Christmas lighting display. Other attractions include the historic Mount 

Lowe Railway, the Sam Merrill Trail, Lake Avenue, Mount Echo, Chaney Trail, the Cobb Estate, 

and Farnsworth Park.

All of these features make Altadena a great place to rent multifamily properties such as 

duplexes, triplexes, fourplexes and larger commercial apartment buildings. This vibrant, diverse 

community has great attractions, a healthy work industry, and great rentals. The density of the
