is Bob Hope Airport (BUR). This airport has domestic flights from Burbank and is 25 miles 

from the center of Monrovia. Another major airport is is LA/Ontario International Airport (ONT), 

which has international and domestic flights from Ontario and is 29 miles away. There are 

several hospitals near Monrovia including Kaiser Foundation Hospital (5 miles), Greater El 

Monte Community Hospital (8 miles), and Citrus Valley Medical Center (8 miles). There are also 

colleges and universities in and around Monrovia, the biggest being Pasadena City College 

about 7 miles away with 9,164 full time enrolled students. It’s local college is Mt Sierra College 

with 210 Full time enrolled students.

Monrovia has many attractions, including its Old Town. Old Town is where the entire 

region goes for shopping, dining and entertainment in a unique atmosphere. Myrtle Avenue's 

shops and restaurants, its 12-screen movie palace and its small-town ambiance, combined with 

plenty of free parking, draw shoppers and diners alike. Library Park, with its new 28,000 square-
foot Public Library, band shell, playground, fountain, shaded walkways, specimen trees and 

veterans memorials, is a quiet "town square" at the core of this thriving district. Other attractions 

include the Upton Sinclair House, home to activist and author Upton Sinclair, and is a National 

Historic Landmark. The Monrovia Canyon Park and Wilderness Preserve are also great 

attractions.
