Studio City is a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles and is a 

great place to rent multifamily, duplex, triplex, fourplex and larger commercial apartment 

properties. Its job industry, conveniences, and attractions make this a great place to live and 

there is a good market available to rent multifamily rental properties such as duplexes, triplexes, 

and fourplexes. Since Studio City is in the city of Los Angeles, there is rent control, unless the 

building falls under one of the exceptions, which are listed under the definition of "Rental Unit" in 

LAMC 151.02.

Studio City’s population was 37,201 as of 2008, which in the 6.31-square-mile Studio 

City neighborhood makes it among the lowest population densities for Los Angeles. The median 

yearly household income in 2008 was $75,657, considered high for the city. This is also higher 

than the California median which was $57,287 in 2011. Renters occupied 55.9% of the housing 

stock and house- or apartment-owners held 44.1%.

Studio City was created by the movie industry. In 1935, 400 employees drew their 

paychecks each week at Republic Studios. Today, thousands are employed at the various 

studios and entertainment-related businesses that operate in Studio City. Ventura Boulevard 

contains miles of thriving mom-and-pop businesses, boutiques, restaurants, banks, and offices. 

The city also enjoys being close to a variety of conveniences. The closest airport is 

Bob Hope Airport (6 miles), with domestic flights, and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), 

only 24 miles away. The largest hospital in the region is the Valley Presbyterian Hospital in 

neighboring Van Nuys, which is also the largest acute care hospital in central San Fernando 

Valley. There are also a number of universities and colleges near Studio City, including 

University of California Los Angeles, California State Northridge, and the Los Angeles Valley 

College.

Studio City also has many attractions, including their weekly Farmers Market, Voted 

The Most Kid Friendly Farmers Market by Los Angeles magazine and a Parents Pick by 

Nickelodeons Parents Connect, the Market boasts a petting zoo, pony rides, train ride, inflatable 

slides, face painting and prepared foods for the whole family. Ventura Blvd. is a great shopping 

and entertainment street with rare antiques, furniture, cool clothes, jewelry, coffee shops, 

restaurants, music and more. The Coldwater Canyon Park, a 44-acre park that includes seven 

miles of hiking trails, a tree nursery, organic gardens, a fruit orchard, educational displays and 

the S. Mark Taper Foundation Amphitheatre. 

All of these features make Studio City a great city to rent multifamily rental properties 

such as duplexes, triplexes, fourplexes and larger commercial apartment buildings. This vibrant, 

growing community has great attractions, a healthy work industry, and many renters. The 

density of the city and the desire for people to live here, make it an ideal location for multifamily 

living and the city does have great duplex, triplex, and fourplex properties.
