This airport has domestic flights from Burbank and is 22 miles from the center of Monterey Park. Another major airport is Long Beach Airport (LGB), which has domestic flights from Long Beach and is 24 miles from Monterey Park. There are two hospitals in Monterey Park: Garfield Medical Center and Monterey Park Hospital. The local college is East Los Angeles College with 7,738 full time enrolled students, but also only 3 miles away is the University of Southern California with 30,578 full time enrolled students.

Monterey Park has many attractions, including the Garvey Ranch Observatory, which has a telescope construction workshop, a historical museum, and a library. The recently opened commercial developments include Atlantic Times Square, which is anchored by AMC Theatres and 24 Hour Fitness, in addition to eating establishments and other stores. The development includes luxury condos directly above on the third through sixth floors. Also, Monterey Park Village is a 40,000 sq. ft. shopping center on South Atlantic Boulevard commercial corridor with a Staples, Walgreens and Togo’s eatery.

All of these features make Monterey Park a great place to buy or sell multifamily investment rental properties such as duplexes, triplexes, fourplexes and larger commercial apartment buildings.
