The top employers in the city, however, lie in the medical business, including UC Irvine Medical Center (4,000), St. Joseph Hospital (3,853), Children's Hospital of Orange County (2,400).


The city also enjoys being close to a variety of conveniences. The nearest major airport is John Wayne Airport.This airport has international and domestic flights from Santa Ana, California and is 10 miles from the center of Orange. Another major airport is Long Beach Airport, which has domestic flights from Long Beach and is 22 miles from Orange. There are several hospitals in Orange, including Chapman Medical Center, UC Irvine Medical Center and St. Joseph Hospital. There are many colleges in and around Orange, but the largest of them is the California State University Fullerton 7 miles away, with 25,436 full time enrolled students. Chapman University is the local university with 5,621 full time enrolled students.


Orange has many attractions and is unique among the region and the state in that it has the second largest concentration of historic buildings. Many of these can be found at the Plaza and Old Towne historical district, where one can find outdoor dining, specialty shops and antique dealers. Other attractions include Peter’s Canyon regional park, Orange County Zoo, Santiago Oaks Regional Park and Nature Center, Irvine Lake, and the Stadium Promenade, for movies and fine dining.


All of these features make the City of Orange a great city to buy or sell multifamily investment rental properties such as duplexes, triplexes, fourplexes and larger commercial apartment buildings. This vibrant, growing community has great attractions, a healthy work industry, and above average rent. The density of the city and the desire for people to live here, make it an ideal location for multifamily living and the city does have great duplex, triplex, and fourplex properties.
