Another major airport is Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), which has international and domestic flights from Los Angeles and is 20 miles from San Pedro. San Pedro also has a few hospitals including Providence Little Company of Mary and San Pedro Peninsula hospital. The largest college nearby is Los Angeles Harbor College and California State Long Beach.


San Pedro has many attractions, including the Battleship Iowa, Point Fermin Park, the Korean Bell of Friendship, the Los Angeles Maritime Museum and the landmark Vincent Thomas Bridge. The Ports O' Call Village in San Pedro is modeled after an East Coast fishing village with lanes winding through restaurants, shops and fish markets. Or you can take an LA Harbor cruise to see the Port of Los Angeles and whale watching.
