The city also enjoys being close to a variety of conveniences. The nearest major airport is Bob Hope Airport (BUR). This airport has domestic flights from Burbank and is 25 miles from the center of Temple City. Another major airport is Long Beach Airport (LGB), which has domestic flights from Long Beach and is 29 miles from Temple City. There are several hospitals near Temple City, including Great El Monte Community Hospital (4 miles), Alhambra Hospital Medical Center (5 miles), and Kaiser Foundation Hospital (6 miles). There are also many colleges and universities around Temple City, one of the closest and biggest being the University of Southern California with 30,578 full time enrolled students 7 miles away.

Temple City has many attractions, including The annual Temple City Camellia Festival, which takes place the last weekend in February. A parade begins the celebration on Saturday morning. The parade commences at the corner of Las Tunas Drive and Rosemead Blvd. Also the annual Saint Luke's Parish Fiesta takes place at the St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church in April. Located at Broadway and Cloverly Avenue, for three days, game booths, rides and food stalls are open to the community. There is also the Temple City's Farmer's Market, which is open every Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the parking lot between City Hall & Temple City Park.
